a return to documenting adventures in travel, parenting, writing, and life
We're back! It's been a while, and I don't have any excuse other than life. I could say that 2020 and 2021 can speak for themselves, but honestly, if that were the case, what would be the point in blogging?
Writing has also been what helps me to feel like me, and what keeps me grounded when life is chaotic. The fact that I haven't written consistently during the most turbulent years of my life, leaves me in a pretty rough headspace.
Starting off 2022 with more than one quarantine has given me the time to gather my thoughts, reorganize all of my old blog posts, and set some goals for myself and my writing. We've got some fun family challenges to document this year, and a lot of events over the past few years I haven't written about or shared, and it's time to get back in the groove.
Enjoy some old content!
I went through all of our old blog posts and transferred them to this space. It was all my English teacher heart could do to not edit and revise some of those early posts, but I decided that the voice and experience (however cringeworthy they were) were important to really appreciate the journey for what it has been. You can't see where you're going without owning where you've been.
Get ready for more!
Accountability really should be my word for 2022. Writing a page here and a chapter there, looking through old notes and posts, and wishing I had time to write aren't getting me anywhere. The notes in my Alaska notebook aren't going to manifest themselves into a memoir, and the little moments with the kids only get harder to remember as the years go on. I hope you'll join us on this journey, and join in on some of the fun!
Cheers to 2022!
